Clay Details

This clay is a cone 10 white/off-white clay body. It is designed to rip or tear away when carving creating rough and textural sections. Please, keep in mind that this clay is essentially a prototype. While it is very close to the final stages of development, it is still being modified and may change slightly depending on user feedback and results from further testing.

Absorption at cone 10 is less than 1%.

Limit of one bag per person - each bag will contain about enough clay to make one or two small cups.

This clay will come as a dry mix:

Mixing is straightforward:

Add the recommended amount of water to the dry mix in a bucket or container

  1. Allow the water to fully penetrate

  2. Knead by hand until the clay is fully integrated and workable

Typically, I add about 200-250 grams of water per 1,000 grams of dry mix. Start at the lower end, around 200 and add water slowly until you reach the desired consistency. Keep in mind, this clay tends to feel a bit dry when first mixing and what feels like too little water may actually be enough. Knead the clay by hand to give the water time to integrate before adding more. If you are carving and the clay is sagging or warping while you are working, it is likely that your clay is too wet.

If you mix your clay too wet, you can leave it out to dry a bit before use.

It is best to use this clay when it is relatively freshly mixed (within a few days to a week) for a sharp, responsive character.

Please take the appropriate safety precautions.

Because this is a dry clay mix, it’s important to:

  • Mix outdoors or in a well-ventilated area

  • Wear proper respiratory protection to avoid inhaling fine particles

  • Once the clay is wet, standard studio safety practices apply

When will the clay be available for purchase?

The clay will launch once testing is fully complete and I’m confident in its performance. Waitlist members will be notified first with full specs, pricing, and ordering details. I am aiming to launch the first batch by spring/summer of 2026
